Coaching and Mentoring

Dr Abel Pienaar’s mindfulness-based coaching practice is based on an integral model of coaching that helps people find their true potential.

The coaching techniques that he uses are the culmination and enhancement of the latest studies of neural science, philosophy and mindfulness techniques.

In coaching, he believes in helping people to find a way back to the place inside themselves where they are already calm, happy and powerful.

“Unhappiness and stress does not come at you but from you. This means that you are not your feelings. Not your thoughts. Best of all, it means that you can let go of the impossible and unbelievably self-punishing thought that you will be unhappy until you find happiness through someone or something—you are already happy, you just don’t realise it.”

In order to reach this goal, he guides people to first, unlearn what they have learned. This is done through exploring with them what interferes and takes them away from their true home of calm — what unconscious blocks, patterns, habits, and beliefs distract them from living an authentic happy life.

At the core of the teachings lies a deep awakening. An essential aspect of this awakening consists in transcending the ego-fear based state of consciousness.

Awareness is the key to self-knowledge, transformation, and effective functioning in the world. Because of that, he helps people to develop and deepen the practice of meditation and mindfulness.

Abel specialises in working with and also mentoring life coaches to become more effective and be capable of reaching more people. His coaching practice draws on over 10 years of a meditation practice, his experience from counselling and mentoring of people for the past 20 years, and a decade of studies in philosophy and theology. Abel is a certified COMENSA member.
